- The product list will fill with products matching your search term.
- Select a product from the list, then select the chart and view options you want and hit the Lookup button.
- The results will appear below the lookup form.
- If you want to lookup another product in the list, you can just select it and hit Lookup again.
- If you want a new search, just enter the new search term and hit Go (or enter). You can also click the Reset link in the lower right hand corner to reset to a blank form.
Search Tips
- Searches are not case sensitive, and search terms entered will be automagically lowercased.
- It is often faster to find a unique word to search for, rather than entering a long string of terms.
- You can always search for brand names like cohiba, rocky patel, nub, 5 vegas, punch, ave maria, my father, etc.
- Alot of cigars have unique names you can search for like
CAO black mosaic, just search for mosaic or
punch diablo use diablo or
Oliva Serie V 135th Anniversary Edicion Limitada Perfecto try 135.
- The search engine does really well with word fragments, allowing you to search with a minimum of keystrokes. For Example:
- If you want all the AJ Fernandez lots, Search for fern or ndez.
(Searching for AJ you will miss the Casa Fernandez cigars.)
- All the Diesel Ruination lots? Try ruin
- Want to search for oliva samplers, enter oli sam
- Instead of searching for Perdomo 10th Anniversary Champagne you can just search for champagne or even pagn
And if you want only the epicure vitola try pagn epi.
- How about all the My Father boxes? Try fath box of
(if you search for fath box you will also get any box press lots)
- We try to ensure that similar products and package sizes sort together, so you dont have to search all over for something,
so sometimes we will standardize terms or product names.
- Sometimes listed as 'Perdomo Champagne', or 'Perdomo 10th Anniversary Champagne' or 'Perdomo Reserve Champagne' as well as 'Perdomo Anniversary Reserve Champagne', these will not appear in the product list together, so we make them all consistent - 'Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Champagne'.
- A term with alot of variations - Box Pressed, Box Press, Boxpressed, BoxPress, Box-Press, Box-Pressed and BP, we standardize to Box Press.
- We also strip out most punctuation, it simplifies searching and it is sometimes not used consistently.
- Listings for E.P. Carrillo and EP Carrillo.
- Or Oliva Serie 'V' vs Oliva Serie V
- Like most search engines, we also try to correct commonly misspelled words.
- If you cannot find a particular product, it may be that there has not been an auction for it in the last year.
How to read the chart
For each chart price line selected (lowest, average, or highest) each colored dot corresponds to the price paid for that product on that date. The lines connecting the dots show the relative change (up/down) of the price over time, as well as the time between auction lots.
So, for example, if you selected lowest and highest for the chart, each green dot on the chart is the lowest price paid for that product on that date, and each red dot on the chart is the highest price paid for that product on that date.
The overall average (blue line) is the average price paid over all lots sold during the charted view.
Also note that the chart may only display the time between when the product is first seen to the time it is last seen, not necessarily the entire view selected.
While we try to get everything right, we are only human, and sometimes things dont work as expected. Please let us know if you find a bug or inaccuracy so we can fix it.
